Since the Sighthound Club of Sweden has come to the conclusion
of moving their "Skokloster Summer Show" from
Mariefred to Lövudden in Västerås, the
Afghan Hound World Congress 2008 will follow the change of town.
We are very
pleased to get this opportunity to hold the Congress here in
Västerås, namely at the Elite Stadshotellet. In addition, the
show venue in Lövudden, right outside the city centre of
Västerås is well known as a functional place for
dog shows in Sweden. For example, there will be
plenty of space for the rings and ringsiders, excellent
facilities for car parking, the hotels and other activities
closely situated - and of course not forgetting the beautiful
city of Västerås!
We truly hope this
change of venue will not cause any problems for your planned
trip, and in fact, we are very much looking forward to this
fantastic row of events here in Sweden next summer:
The World Dog Show, The Afghan Hound World Congress,
The Afghan Hound Club Show and The Sighthound Specialty Show!
There is an
airport in Västerås where you can fly for example by Ryan Air.
The airport Arlanda/Stockholm is approximately a 1-hour drive
from Västerås.
Though the World Dog
Show in Stockholm is held the weekend before the Congress -
Afghans being judged on Saturday the 5th of July with the Best In
Show finals on Sunday the 6th of July - it will be possible to
stay in
Västerås during the whole "cirquit": the World Dog
Show as well as the Afghan Hound World Congress (in Elite
Stadshotellet in Västerås) and the “Skokloster
Summer Shows” (held at Lövudden, right outside Västerås).
